By hook or by crook I was going to make it to Costume National's Menswear A/W 2013-14 in Milan's Via Tortona yesterday! I cancelled all my appointments from 12 'til 3, slipped into a slinky black dress (it was so tight I looked like a Geisha girl walking along Tokyo's busy streets.... one teeny little step at a time!), exceedingly high heels and voila' I was ready!
Once I'd finally got to the show I was thrust a Press Pack and hurled into the caos that the Italian Jet Set tend to cause every time they move! From Anna Dello Russo, presenter Fabio Fazio, pop star Emma Marrone and many others, everyone intent on finding their special designated space to get a glimpse of the highly awaited collection.
Lights, music .... ACTION! About time too.... I was almost beside myself with excitement!
|The mood (behind the scenes)|
Well, I have to admit it .... I was delighted by what I saw - elegant, refined yet so very metropolitan worn aggressively by the models who literally strode along the catwalk with a angry stage presence known only to the likes of Robert De Niro and James Dean! They were strong, independent, self assured, mysterious, modern, understated - like the clothes themselves!
Black was clearly the predominant colour, but midnight blues, electric blue and ice also made a statement.
Cropped jogging bottoms, were incredibly attractive and the throw back to the 60s which included maxi woollen cardigans, cashmere and woollen turtle neck jumpers with a rather retro satin armour just gave it all a smart yet relaxed look.
The collection offered everything: past, present and future!
The Man presented by Costume National was simply irresistible!
