MARINI ROMA - HANDMADE BESPOKE SHOES SINCE 1899 |
If any of you have ever sat and watched an artisan at work you will understand us when we write about the 'mesmerising' effect it as on a spectator. One feels drawn into a fantastical world, and enters into a semi trance as one admires the manual dexterity, the attention to detail, the precision but also the speed at which they work - years of applying age old techniques don't count for nothing!
Well we were totally spell bound when we discovered this beautiful video of roman shoemaker MARINI. Marini has been producing beautiful handmade bespoke shoes for its clients since 1899.
Ars Sutoria (eng) from Marini Roma 1899 on Vimeo.
Founded by Giuseppe Marini in 1899 as a school for shoemakers, the boutique soon followed with a laboratory in the heart of Rome at Via Crispi 97 , where 3 generations later Carlo Marini manages the business with his co-workers intent on expanding the business worldwide.
Marini Roma has made shoes for some of the most famous Hollywood stars including Robert De Niro and Marcello Mastroianni.
If you want to experience a truly luxury shoe - then pop onto a plane to Rome and visit the Marini Roma Boutique just around the corner from the Spanish Steps and the Dolce Vita's Via Veneto.

Unlike factory-made shoes, bespoke shoes or custom made shoes are a pair of custom shoes that are unique to their owner and their craftsmen.
