LAURENT FERRIER INTRODUCES AN 18 PIECE LIMITED EDITION PLATINUM GALET MICRO-ROTOR!

Swiss Independent Watch Maker LAURENT FERRIER offers its aficionados a new version of its Galet Micro-Rotor: an ultra-limited 18-piece platinum limited edition with a white grand feu enamelled dial.

A high-performance “motor”, encased in precious bodywork exalting its understated elegance typical of the brand.

Indeed true to its 'creatively classic' style,  the 950 platinum smooth pebble shape of the case echoes the understatedly elegant models of 19th century horological history.

Founded in 2008 by Laurent Ferrier, the brand, which takes his name is dedicated to traditional fine watchmaking. Constantly developing totally innovative movements whilst driven by a completely independent approach.

The young company harks back to the origins of expertise and fundamentals of traditional watchmaking, while lending its own contemporary vision of movement construction. Their recent development guarantees a degree of precision and reliability bordering on perfection.

Testament to the company's rising success has been their  Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix prize in the “Men’s Watch” category for its first creation, the Galet Classic,  and in 2011, the brand was acknowledged as the most promising by Asia's watch specialist magazine Revolution, which granted it the “Rising Star Award”.

The Galet Micro-rotor features two exclusive characteristics: a micro- rotor pawl-fitted automatic winding system, assisted by an exclusive silicon double-direct impulse escapement fitted directly on the balance, inspired by the father of modern horology, Abraham-Louis Breguet. This modern construction, associated with the use of cutting-edge materials, maximises the restitution of energy. Its excellent efficiency guarantees high balance amplitude, thereby reducing the mechanical force required to wind the barrel spring and optimising the movement winding.

The Galet Micro Rotor

The automatic winding mechanism is a unidirectional-winding pawl-fitted micro- rotor. This type of pawl mechanism is closer to that used in traditional horology and is above all more efficient over the long term. The micro-rotor is fitted with an 18K gold guilloché oscillating weight.

This winding device is off-centred and housed on the mainplate between two bridges, fixed on an axis between two rubies. This ensures maximum stability compared with a conventional micro-rotor, thereby reducing the movement thickness and ensuring the clearest possible view of the construction.
